At UQAM (University of Quebec in Montreal), 14 departments are involved in work related to the North and the Arctic. Training activities focused specifically on the North span across various disciplines including history, politics, tourism, literature, arts, religious studies, linguistics, and sociology. UQAM researchers collaborate with Indigenous communities on numerous projects aimed at analyzing social, cultural, economic, and environmental issues related to the northern and winter worlds. The UQAM Northern and Arctic Research Portal, accessible online, provides information about research projects and training activities related to the North and the Arctic conducted or organized by UQAM.
