Interuniversity Research Group in Limnology (GRIL)

Bringing together 60 researchers from twelve Québec institutions, the Interuniversity Research Group in Limnology (GRIL) aims to advance understanding of lakes, rivers, and the ecosystems they support.

Recognized as one of Canada’s leading research centres in freshwater ecology, GRIL brings together more than 200 graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research professionals.

The GRIL-UdeM shares a common mission to understand the ecological, biogeochemical, evolutionary, and hydrological processes and patterns underlying the functioning of lakes, rivers, wetlands, and reservoirs, thereby contributing to the preservation of their biodiversity and the sustainability of the ecosystem services they provide.
