Call for sessions and oral presentations (closed)

Institut nordique du Québec is pleased to announce its call for sessions and oral presentations for the next edition of INQ's Annual Symposium. The event will be held at the Musée de la civilisation in Quebec City on May 7 and 8, 2024, with the theme of Northern infrastructures.

The general program is structured around three main blocks, addressing four cross-cutting issues :

All interested persons are invited to submit proposals for sessions and/ or oral presentations.

People interested in organising a thematic session or giving an oral presentation should submit their proposal before February 26, 2024 (via the proposal form in the link below). 

  • Deadline for submitting a proposal : February 26, 2024. 
  • Announcement of retained proposals : March 2024.

Session guidelines 

Proposals for sessions must include the following information  : 

  • Title of the session ;
  • Name of the principal session organiser and his/her contact information (e-mail, mailing address, affiliated institution or organisation);
  • Name(s) and contact information of co-organiser(s), if any ;
  • Language of the session ;
  • Names of potential presenters ;
  • Description of proposed session (maximum 200 words). The organising committee will use this text to assess the quality of the session. If your session is accepted, this text will also be used to promote the session;
  • The research axe(s) in which your session fits. For descriptions of the research axes, consult the INQ's website : https://inq.ulaval.ca/en/research-axes

Oral presentation guidelines

Proposals for oral presentations (18 minutes) must include the following information : 

  • Title of the oral presentation ;
  • Name of the presenter(s) and contact information (e-mail, mailing address, affiliated institution or organisation) ;
  • If applicable, names of co-authors and their contact information (please indicate if they will be attending the event) ;
  • Language of the presentation ;
  • Short description of the presentation (maximum 150 words). The organising committee will use the text to to evaluate the quality of the presentation. If the presentation is accepted, the text will be used for its promotion ;
  • Short biography of the presenter (maximum 50 words). The chair of your session will use this information to introduce you  ;
  • The research axe(s) to which your presentation pertains For descriptions of the research axes, consult the INQ's website : https://inq.ulaval.ca/en/research-axes

** The length of the oral presentation will vary according to the format and the number of presenters in your session. This information will be confirmed with the presenters in March. 

** The presenters and the session organisers must register and pay their registration fees before April 15, 2024. If you fail to do so, the organising committee reserves the right to cancel your presentation or session.
