2024 Photo contest | Call to the INQ community

INQ is launching the second photo contest in its history, an opportunity to showcase your creativity and share your vision of Northern Quebec and the Canadian Arctic within our community.  

You're invited to submit your best photos of the North for a chance to win one of three People's Choice Awards. You have until April 21 to submit photos.

Vous êtes invités à soumettre vos plus belles photos du Nord pour une chance de remporter l’un des trois prix du public. Vous avez jusqu’au 15 avril pour soumettre des photos.  

The three winning photos will be selected by the public attending Institut nordique du Québec's Annual Symposium, which will be held on May 7-8, 2024. The winners will be announced on site. 

Context 

In 2018, INQ launched its first photo contest. Since then, our communications have been greatly enriched by the exceptional images submitted during this first edition of the contest. We would like to express our gratitude to all those who generously shared their photos in 2018.

To continue this tradition of visual quality, we've decided to renew our photo gallery. That's why we're excited to launch this new contest, and we hope you'll join us once again!

Prizes 

• Based on the public vote, three monetary prizes, each worth $300, will be awarded.

Use of the images 

By submitting your photos to the contest, you agree that they may be used for communication purposes, whether in print, on the web, or for publicity. We reserve the right to include these images in our various communication channels, as well as those of our partners. We would like to emphasize that, wherever possible, we will always endeavor to give appropriate credit to the author. Your participation in the contest therefore implies your acceptance of these conditions, and we encourage you to share your creativity in full knowledge of this potential use of your photographs. We are grateful for your contribution and are committed to respecting each other's work and intellectual property wherever possible.

Admission criteria

• The contest is open to anyone over 18 years of age;
• Participants must sign a consent form for the use of the images.

Process to submit photos 

• Photos must be submitted before April 21 to info@inq.ulaval.ca 
• The photos must be submitted in digital format and in high resolution
• If the photos are too large to be sent by email, use a service such as WeTransfer or Filemail. 
• The file names must include the first and last names of the participant (for example, Firstname_Lastname1.jpg). 
• Each photo submitted must be accompanied a caption (i.e. where and when the photo was taken).
• Participants must attach a copy of the photo use agreement form. (See Documents section)
• In the event of a recognizable presence of a person in the photo, a model's authorization form must also be provided. (See Documents section)
