Jean-Éric Tremblay, a researcher in the Biology Department at Université Laval, was named director of INQ at the beginning of July. Chosen following a call for applications launched in March 2020, Dr. Tremblay has extensive knowledge of northern and Arctic issues. The INQ team is pleased to welcome this seasoned researcher, who has been involved with INQ since its inception.

Institut nordique du Québec (INQ) and Université Laval's Sentinel North Research Strategy (SN) announces funding for five additional projects under its Building a Sustainable North Partnership Research Program. A total of $1.5 million was awarded in this second call for proposals for inter-institutional and multidisciplinary projects that will generate new knowledge about the North and the Arctic, with a view to the sustainable development of Northern Quebec and the well-being of the communities that inhabit this territory.

The 2020 edition of the My Northern Project Outreach Contest included a new feature this year: the People's Choice Award!

This prize is awarded to the person who produced the video that received the most public feedback on the INQ's social networks (Facebook and Twitter).

We are pleased to present this award to Flore Sergeant, a doctoral student in Earth Sciences at Université Laval.
