$3 million to promote Institut nordique du Québec’s expertise | Press conference

We were very proud to participate in the press conference held on April 23 by Mr. Jonatan Julien, ministère de l’Énergie et des Ressources naturelles, accompanied by Ms. Sophie D'Amours, Rector of Université Laval, whose objective was to highlight this funding and Quebec's undeniable expertise in terms of northern research. This decisive funding will allow INQ to consolidate its autonomy and ensure the sustainability of its activities.

Summary: This presentation provides a portrait of the diplomacy of non-sovereign states in the Arctic region. It describes the geopolitical dynamics, regional institutions and international relations in order to identify the opportunities and challenges that these actors face in pursuing their interests. It focuses on non-sovereign states in the North American Arctic (Quebec, Alaska, Greenland) to understand how international activities in this region unfold.

Scientific news | Manicouagan, yesterday, today and tomorrow

Manicouagan is more than just a hydroelectric dam and its vast reservoir nestled in a meteorite crater. It is also a river, from its mouth to the lake.

In fact, it is an entire ancestral territory, the Nitassinan, of the Innu community of Pessamit. At the intersection of these perspectives is geography, which is not only physical but also cultural and historical.

Featured Equipment | A unique instrument for greenhouse gas analysis

In the world of environmental research, and specifically for research groups interested in climate change, the measurement of greenhouse gases is a must.

To meet the needs of the various research teams, INRS (Centre Eau Terre Environnement) has acquired a gas chromatograph that is specifically configured for the analysis of greenhouse gases.

Could this equipment be useful for your projects? INRS makes it available to university colleagues.
